RETREAT @ CMC - 12/15/01 |
The retreat at CMC on Saturday December 15 of 2001 has come and gone. It is the most remembrance retreat for many of us including myself. Even though I arrived at the retreat a bit late due to 1/2 hour of overslept and a trip to the Precious Moment close by CMC to pick up several gifts. Still, I didn't left out anything, the retreat is a worthwhile moment.
Tulsa and Kansas City groups has getting together occasionally. This time again, the gathering was a blast. The attendants of both groups are approximately counted up to 70 people including estimated about 20 adults. Both the youths and adults are very involved and active through out the retreat. Father Vincent Thanh (he has a mile long name) was the resider along with Brother Bernie Dang, CMC brother and other CVT helpers. Everything went smoothly through out. The lecture, the sermon from Bro Bernie, the music...it is great and the kids love it and response with a learning spirit intention. I think everyone is touched by God and touched by each other. Everyone opens their hearts, their minds to others and invited, allowed others to join in.
The reconcilement helped us make peace with God and make peace with our parents, our brothers, sisters, friends, and others. A word "I am Sorry" or "Thank You" is hard to say, then we have and did learned how to say it to our parents, brothers, sisters, friends, and others. That's what God has teach us and want us be aware always. It is a way to feel our inner peace, by making peace with others. Our actions, our attitude, and most of all our Christianity Character, as God command us love God and love others as ourselves.
At the end of the day, we all have dinner in the cafeteria of Nha` Do`ng. After the dinner, we all take a tour to see the most awesome Christmas Light Display "made in CMC" on a yellow bus. If you have a chance, come to CMC and see the light for yourself. It is really beautiful and fascinated. After the tour, we all say good bye to each other and went on with our life. And each one of us bringing a piece of peace back to our home, our community, and shine that piece of peace around us.
Here are some questions from Fr. Vincent Thanh lecture.
1. From the presentation, what message, image, feeling strikes you the most?
2. Can you share some of the disorders/addiction in your life? How and why they have caused unrest in your life?
3. What can you do to bring peace/order back to your life, your family, and your community?
